Who are we? We are The Vantage Teaching School Hub (The Vantage THS) which is designated to St Mary’s College, part of the St Cuthbert’s Catholic Academy Trust. When dealing with personal data we are called a Data Controller because we determine how and why personal data is processed.

What is a Privacy Notice? The Privacy Notice tells you what we use your personal data for and what your rights are in relation to it.

Basis for collecting and processing personal info In most instances we are legally obliged to collect and process personal data. Where this is not the case we will obtain your consent before we collect and process the information. The Vantage TSH uses any one of the following lawful basis for processing your personal information: • You have consented to us processing your data • There is a contractual relationship with you • We are legally obliged to process your data • We believe it’s in the legitimate interest of either you as the data subject, or us, to process your data. Legitimate interest can be used where there is a reasonable purpose to process an individual’s data. Research purposes are where research is in the public interest and the research is, wherever possible, conducted using pseudonymised data and the minimum amount of data necessary. • In most cases, we process your personal information on the basis of legitimate interest. For what purpose do we collect and process your data?

We may use your information for the following purposes: • To operate, manage, develop and promote our organisation and, in particular, our relationship with you or the organisation you represent (if any) and related interactions • To operate, administer and improve our website, products and premises and the way in which we conduct our operations • To protect the security of our products, premises, sites and those of our partners • To comply with our legal and regulatory obligations and bring and defend legal claims • To comply with contractual obligations, for example to complete statistical returns to the DfE and other partners • To invite you to The Vantage TSH events • To manage and provide The Vantage TSH services and facilities such as training events, online talks/webinars and IT services • To use in future applications for other The Vantage TSH programmes • To conduct equality data monitoring, analysis and planning • To include in management information, statistical analysis and internal and external research • To measure the impact and effectiveness of our online advertising and each programme, and to make improvements • For marketing and communications purposes, including contacting you with programme and training opportunities in the future • We may from time to time review information about you held in our systems – including the contents of and other information related to your email and other communications with us – for compliance and business-protection purposes as described above. This may include: • reviews for the purposes of disclosure of information relevant to litigation • reviews of records relevant to internal or external regulatory investigations • review of records relevant to criminal investigations • To the extent permitted by applicable law these reviews will be conducted in a reasonable and proportionate way and approved at an appropriate level of management. They may ultimately involve disclosure of your information to governmental agencies and litigation counterparties as described below • Your emails and other communications may also occasionally be accessed by persons other than the member of staff with whom they are exchanged for ordinary business management purposes (for example, where necessary when a staff member is out of the office or has left The Vantage TSH) • In the case of recorded online training, The Vantage TSH will conduct a risk assessment to consider the potential risk/harm and mitigators.

Who is responsible for the personal data which we collect and process? This is our Data Privacy Manager (DPO). They are responsible for overseeing all data protection policies and procedures and for ensuring that we are compliant with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). More than one category may apply to you, depending on that relationship (e.g. if you have completed one of our programmes and have also taken part in a fundraising event).

What rights do you have over your personal data? Under the GDPR you have the following rights:

The right of access: the right to request access to your personal data that we hold and be provided with a copy of it.
